Dedoplistskaro
The trip starts at 9:00 AM from Dedoplistskaro.
Soon after leaving town, the road passes between agricultural fields that serve as favored hunting grounds for various birds of prey. Here you may encounter kestrels, harriers, buzzards, eagles... and if you’re well prepared, you might even capture stunning photographs from the comfort of your car.
Still in the middle of nowhere, you will visit an abandoned Soviet military airfield. Hangars, a runway, and even an old ruined plane can be seen here.
Stop at the Vashlovani Rangers’ Station — enjoy the view over the arid light forest, the core of the National Park.
Next comes a short stop at Leopard Viewpoint. From here you’ll enter Pantishara Gorge, where you take a little journey into the geological past of the area.
Continue driving along a dry riverbed through the canyon. Rugged cliffs are favorite perching spots for vultures — with a spotter, you can even make impressive videos using your phone.
Eldari Lowland — home to hundreds of gazelles. We'll try to spot them and observe from a distance while learning about their remarkable return to Georgia.
From here, you’ll return to Dedoplistskaro.
